Vertos Medical has developed a novel procedure referred to as the mild (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression) procedure for the treatment of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis(LSS). The mild procedure is less invasive than other surgical procedures currently used for LSS and can be performed under local anesthesia. Using a set of proprietary surgical devices under fluoroscopic guidance tissue and bone that are pinching nerves in and around the spinal cord are removed using specialized devices. The procedure provides an alternative decompression treatment for reducing the pain and numbness associated with LSS with the potential for a shorter operation and faster recovery times.
