<p>If you have been experiencing endometriosis back pain for some time, you probably have your own self-medication to alleviate the pain. You also probably already conditioned to and used to experiencing this endometriosis symptom on a regular basis.</p>
<p>But did you know that there are several treatments and measures that are aimed at helping you overcome these back pains? </p>
<p>Before seeking out these treatments, it&#8217;s important to understand how back pain caused by endometriosis occurs.</p>
<p>It is worth remembering that endometriosis is not actually a disease. It is a condition that occurs when misplaced endometrial tissue brings discomfort due to the influence of the female hormone estrogen.</p>
<p>Endometrial tissue normally grows and thrives within the lining of the uterus. However, due to yet unknown reasons, this tissue can grow in other parts of the body.</p>
<p>The common areas that this misplaced tissue can be found are on the outside of the reproduction organs and on the other organs found in the abdominal cavity. </p>
<p>During menstruation, the swollen endometrial tissues shed and bleed. So, the area where this tissue is attached experience pain and discomfort and scaring.</p>
<p>Over time the scar tissues and areas of inflammation increase forming adhesions. These are ropes of scar tissue that connect organs together, sometimes even fusing the pelvic cavity into one mass. It is the adhesions that cause most of the pain associated with endometriosis, including back pain.</p>
<p>When experiencing endometriosis back pain, the initial and probably most practical medication you are likely to take without prescriptions would be over the counter pain relievers.  Pain relievers alleviate endometriosis back pain albeit temporarily. </p>
<p>If you are looking for long-term treatment, you will need to address the endometriosis problem, not just the symptoms.</p>
<p>There are many treatments now available to help provide endometriosis relief.</p>
<p>First, and probably the most used remedy is to take birth control pills. Just make sure you are only taking the active pills in the pill mats and not the &#8220;filler&#8221; pills. </p>
<p>Birth control pills regulate hormones and keep estrogen levels low.</p>
<p>Surgery is also be an option.  It targets the adhesions and visible spots of endometriosis growth. Most sufferers report improved or no symptoms for up to 18 months after surgery, however, the symptoms normally return over time.</p>

<p>A deformed back bone is the house to many disorders. Bad postures not only deform your spinal cord but they also have a very bad impact on your back muscles. So the next morning when you wake up, you may suffer from a muscle cramp or a muscle-strain.</p>
<p>Our spinal cord is not straight but curved. Sleeping in bad postures extends the curve in your lower back. A curved back exerts stress on the muscles and soft bones in the neck. This type of back pain generally extends up to the mornings. Therefore, it becomes important for you to follow an appropriate sleeping posture that provides a natural support to your spine.</p>
<p>The best way is to consult a good medical practitioner, who will guide you to the best possible treatment for your back pain. Besides this, an important thing is the type of bed and the mattress that you use while sleeping. The mattress should be firm. While sleeping, try to keep a pillow under your head and also a pillow between your legs. This posture is very good in easing your back pain while sleeping.</p>
<p>Some people have the habit of sleeping on their stomachs. For such people, it is advised that they should try and sleep with a pillow under their stomach and not under the head. This posture reduces the unnecessary pressure on the back and the neck.</p>

<p>Neck and back pain is a common occurrence these days. All of us have experienced it on more than one occasion. Sometimes it is a bad sleep at night, sometimes a long day at the office and at times a sudden jerk is what causes a neck or back pain. Injuries to neck and back can be quite debilitating, as they can prevent you from performing even the simplest of your functions. You might find it difficult to get up and go from one place to another, leave aside working.</p>
<p>What is worse is that our sedentary lives have made us prone to frequent neck and back injuries. This is because we work in stationary positions for much longer duration while our bodies are not strong enough to put up with this kind of abuse. Exercise is hardly a part of our daily lives, which leaves us too weak to tolerate the onslaught of modern life.</p>
<p>There is ample medical help available, but much like our modern life, it too comes with a number of side effects. Therefore, popping the pill is no longer a viable solution. Therefore, people are turning to alternative remedies in a big way.</p>
<p>Massage, meditation and acupuncture are among the most preferred alternative treatments primarily because they come with no side effects and can cure the problem instead of providing a short-lived, quick fix relief.</p>
<p>Acupuncture is fast gaining ground as the foremost alternative treatment for treatment method. For those who are unfamiliar with it, it is a treatment that involves the inserting of needles at crucial points in the body. The insertion of needles at these points cures the pain and discomfort. It is a painless process and has been found to be very effective.</p>
<p>Massage, too, is coming up as a great way to relieve pain. It is primarily because massage facilitates the flow of blood, which, in turn, helps the healing process to a large extent besides relaxing the tensed muscles.</p>
<p>Meditation is yet another alternative remedy though it calls for a high degree of self-discipline for one to be able to perform it. But once you start meditating successfully, it not only relieves back pain but also infuses one&#8217;s life with new energy.</p>
<p>Therefore, medication is not the only option you have for back pain relief. There are many more to choose from. And they come free of side effects. Choose the best one or use all or any of them in combination.</p>

Since it does not employ the use of any external medication, many people find it an easy and affordable mean of cure.</p>
<p>The treatment of acupuncture runs on a simple theory. We have two thousand energy points on our body. These points are connected with the twenty pathways or the meridians. Wherein, conduction of the chi or qi life forces take place. If any one of the pathways are blocked, back pain comes into play.</p>
<p>Acupuncture treatment involves the clearing of the above mentioned path for the proper conduction of the life forces. The process of acupuncture involves the insertion of anywhere between one to twenty needles into the human body. The number of the needles to be inserted depends on the age, sex and magnitude of pain to the patient.</p>
<p>Besides this, there are different ways of inserting the needles in the body. Some of them are made to rest on the skin surface, while the others are inserted into the skin. The depth of the needles range from one inch to several inches. These needles are then left stationary for about thirty minutes. The needles may be sometimes rotated, depending upon the type of treatment. This is done to free the energy that is blocked in the body. At certain times, the needles, before inserting are warmed or charged electrically to facilitate the process properly.</p>
<p>Apart from this, some acupuncturist also use the method of moxibustion (heat therapy). It is a process in which small amounts of herbs are burnt at the need of the needles to be inserted. These herbs help in encouraging the negative energyb to go away from the body.</p>

<p>Back pain often occurs due to muscle imbalances or weakness in your body. One of the secrets to ensure relief from back pain is to undertake regular sessions of stretching and core strenghtening excercises. Hamstring tightness is a common cause of back pain. Pilates is a recognised method of exercise where the muscles are both soothed and strengthened when performed correctly. <p>There are some simple things you can to do to help yourself if you suffer from chronic back pain and you have probably tried many of these. First of all, be careful how you bend, especially if you have to pick something up off the floor. Don&#8217;t bend over! Get right over the top of the article, bend your knees, lift up one corner first, then the other side. You will be amazed at how much easier it is to lift doing it this way. It is called the power lift and it works.</p>

<p>How about when we don&#8217;t do it right or it just goes out? First of all, ICE! Ice always worked the best for me to get it feeling better quicker. An ice pack wrapped in a hand towel and you lay on it on the floor for twenty minutes every hour.</p>

<p>Now, while you are on the floor, GENTLY bring your knees up toward your stomach, <br /> DO NOT ROCK. Let your legs back down and bring them up again, very slowly and gently. This will stretch your back muscles which is what you need because most likely they are all knotted up.</p>
<p><strong>Yoga for Back Pain</strong></p>

<p>The basic strength of yoga lies in its stretching of muscles and joints and then holding it in position combined with scientific breathing technique. This, coupled with the relaxing breathing techniques reduces strain on muscles and joints, occasionally helping repositioning of tendons and muscle fibbers. Get moving, remember that if you have to stand or sit in one position for a long time, then try to change the position at least every 15-20 minutes.</p>

<p>Since yoga postures aim to strengthen the spine as well as lengthen and stretch muscles, it can be ideal for many back pain sufferers. If you experience back pain and it keeps you from enjoying many of life&#8217;s activities, then try yoga for back pain and finally live life as you once did. Anyone looking for relief from back pain and or neck pain needs to turn away from the medicine cabinet and practice yoga.</p>

<p>Low back pain, back pain, lumbar pain, spinal pain, all are names for the troublesome and very common problem which affects many of us at certain times in our lives. Physiotherapists assess and treat large number of back pain patients every day and have various treatment techniques to help this condition.</p>

<p>The Answer May Already Be In Your Kitchen</p>
<p>According to acid reflux and back pain sufferers, one of the best treatments for acid reflux is a very simple remedy &#8211; vinegar! Vinegar is a natural and safe way of treating both acid reflux and back pain. You simply drink a tablespoon of vinegar each day, preferably in the morning. This helps to reduce acid reflux by basically counteracting the overproduction of acid in your stomach.</p>
<p>For those who thing they may not have the stomach (or the tastebuds) for vinegar, apple cider vinegar can replace the regular vinegar. With the apple cider vinegar you take about one tablespoon before each meal. <p>According to acid reflux and back pain sufferers, one of the best treatments for acid reflux is a very simple remedy &#8211; vinegar! Vinegar is a natural and safe way of treating both acid reflux and back pain. You simply drink a tablespoon of vinegar each day, preferably in the morning. This helps to reduce acid reflux by basically counteracting the overproduction of acid in your stomach.</p>
<p>For those who thing they may not have the stomach (or the tastebuds) for vinegar, apple cider vinegar can replace the regular vinegar. With the apple cider vinegar you take about one tablespoon before each meal. Using the vinegar method to treat acid reflux, you should begin to see results within a few weeks, although some people state they notice relief after only a few days. However, it is important to continue to take the vinegar on a daily basis, even after you begin to notice improvement. Otherwise your pain and acid reflux may return.</p>

<p>For those who prefer the drug store treatment of acid reflux, another method is to combine antacids and pain medication for the relief of both the acid reflux and the back pain. The antacids will work for the acid reflux by neutralizing acid in the stomach, while the pain medication will offer relief from the back pain. In general, antacids are a gentle medication and can usually be taken safely in conjunction with other medications. <p>During my 17 years practicing medicine, patients and friends constantly ask me:</p>
<p>&#8220;What is the most likely cause of my back pain?&#8221;</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve written this simple guide for people who have the same question in mind.</p>
<p>The commonest type of back pain is caused by tears or strains to ligaments, tendons or muscles around the lower spinal cord. The underlying factors are straining, poor posture, incorrect lifting and inactivity. The pain usually appears 36-48 hours after the strain or can be gradual in onset. The symptoms can be mild to moderate depending on the level of injury.</p>
<p>Herniation of a vertebral disc may be associated with back pain and also sciatica&#8230;shooting pain down the back of one leg. It is most often seen in people in their 30&#8242;s and 40&#8242;s but can also occur in the elderly. The condition is caused by underlying disc degeneration. This can lead to a gradual rupturing of the disc and Herniation of the disc contents. This process can be exacerbated by physical straining or exercise. The sciatica occurs when the disc contents press on the neighboring spinal nerve. The pain, which can be very severe, may be associated with numbness or tingling in the area supplied by that nerve (dermatome).</p>
<p>Facet Joint Arthropathy can result from arthritic changes, degeneration or trauma to the facet joints of the vertebral bodies of the spine. These joints are normally covered with cartilage and lined by synovial membranes. Arthritis leads to wear and tear of the cartilage and inflammation of the membranes. This leads to grating movements between the two facet joints. This type of back pain is worsened by torsion or elongation of the spine. The pain is normally well localized and may spread to the buttocks.</p>
<p>Narrowing of the spinal canal (Spinal Stenosis) is more commonly seen in the elderly. It is secondary to vertebral degeneration. It may also occur with infection, trauma, tumors and arthritis of the spine and with bony spurs and disk herniation. It can progress to severe spinal cord injury. It is associated with back pain as well as pain, numbness and weakness of the buttocks.</p>
<p>Radiculopathy (&#8216;a pinched nerve&#8217;) is associated with back pain and pain, numbness, weakness and tingling of the legs. It occurs when inflammation of a spinal nerve is caused by pressure or friction. The underlying factors can be tumors, bony spurs, disc herniation, and fractures of the vertebrae. The presence of muscle weakness in the legs as well as pain in the back&#8230; indicates severe symptoms. In such cases you should seek a doctor&#8217;s advice immediately.</p>
<p>Tumors of the spine, whether they originate in the spine or spread from distant organs, can cause terrible back pain through pressure on the nerves and spine. Chronic persistent pain despite treatment is suggestive although not diagnostic of a spinal tumor. Be suspicious when such pain is associated with generalized signs of cancer such as weight loss, loss of appetite and tiredness.</p>
<p>Infection of the spinal cord or surrounding tissues causes pressure on the spine and can result in severe back pain and loss of function of the affected spinal nerves. Examples include spinal meningitis and osteomyelitis.</p>
<p>Pathology of the vertebrae of the spine can cause pressure on the spinal nerves, inflammatory conditions and degeneration. Examples include osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and ankylosing spondylitis. Ankylosing spondylitis is characterized by pain in the back and stiffness. This stiffness is more pronounced in the morning as is not helped by rest. There may also be pain in the shoulders, neck and mid-spine. Osteoporosis ( low bone mass) leads to fractures. Fractures cause sudden severe back pain localized to the area of the fracture. Osteoarthritis, the wear and tear of joints with age, leads to chronic back pain which tends to be poorly localized. It is normally associated with stiffness and pain which is not eased by rest.
